Our November Classroom Read-Aloud is We Are Grateful: Otsaliheliga by Traci Sorell. This is a look at modern Native American life as told by a citizen of the Cherokee Nation. The word otsaliheliga (oh-jah-LEE-hay-lee-gah) is used by members of the Cherokee Nation to express gratitude. Beginning in the fall with the new year and ending in summer, We Are Grateful: Otsaliheliga follows a full Cherokee year of celebrations and experiences.
We have chosen a Read-Aloud book for each month and want to have a book available for each class. If you would like to make a donation of a book, please visit Book of the Month Read-Aloud. Thank you.
