Why is Fundraising So Important at PS8?
Public funding covers the basics but not the education our children deserve. Each year, there’s a significant gap between what the Department of Education provides and what it actually takes to deliver the rich PS8 experience our students love.
Your donations keep class sizes smaller, fund arts and enrichment programs, and ensure that every child has access to the classroom materials, academic and social-emotional support, and opportunities they need to thrive.
With city budget cuts and rising costs, your contribution matters more than ever. Every dollar you give goes directly toward supporting classrooms, teachers, and arts and enrichment programs. Every year, we must raise these funds anew.
Put simply: without family donations, many of the programs our kids enjoy wouldn’t be available at PS8.

It costs more than $2,200 per student each year to sustain PS8’s essential programs. We understand that not every family can give at that level. That’s okay.
