The PTA is an active and integral part of the PS8/MS8 community. As a parent or guardian of a PS8/MS8 student, you are automatically a member of the PTA.
- Facilitate an effective relationship and two-way communication between families and school administration
- Raise funds to provide a wide variety of educational and cultural programs and materials to support school initiatives for the students of PS8/MS8
- Build school spirit through special events
The executive board is an elected group of leaders that anchor the school community, disseminate information, raise concerns, and represent parent interests on SLT and regional committees.

Attending meetings is a great way to get involved and collaborate on big decisions. General PTA meetings are held monthly in the lower school auditorium and are open to the public. Parents are also welcome to attend executive board meetings. For a full list of meetings, see the school calendar.

The PTA gained recognition as a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code in 1982. The formal name of the PTA is the Parents and Teachers Association of PS8.
