PS 8 prides itself on a dynamic PTA, powered by a strong connection between our parent community and staff members. All parents and guardians of children attending PS 8 are automatically members of the PTA.
The PTA’s mission is to:
- Build a vibrant and welcoming community within PS 8 and with the greater neighborhood community.
- Facilitate an effective relationship and two-way communication between families, school administration, school staff, and community officials.
- Raise funds to provide a wide variety of educational and cultural programs and materials to support school initiatives.

We work hard to provide the best possible education for our children and offer a well-rounded experience with enrichments and extra programming.
Covering more than $1000 per child in program expenses requires a lot of fundraising. Appeals and donations are the most effective way to raise money. 100% of direct donations go to supporting our programs, and your contribution is fully tax-deductible.
The PTA hosts fundraising and community-building events throughout the school year as well as merchandise sales and revenue-sharing opportunities. Volunteers are always needed!
