Thanks to a grant, the Community Counseling and Mediation For Youth Initiative (CCM F.Y.I.) runs a SONYC program onsite at MS 8 that provides no-cost after-school, vacation camp, and summer programs to a limited number of registered sixth through eighth grade students. See a flyer about the program! MS 8 will join four other SONYC after school programs that CCM leads at Brooklyn elementary and middle schools (PS 316, PS 78, PS 238 and MS 584).
CCM F.Y.I.’s after-school program runs from the end of school until 5:30 p.m. (parents may pick-up until 6:00 p.m.) and features homework help, STEM activities, arts, and sports. After-school program participants have priority registration for the summer and vacation programs. Contact Program Director Akita Felix for more information at firstname.lastname@example.org or (718) 230-5100.
