It’s PS8’s month to Celebr8 Reading!
For more detailed information about the various events, see the Celebr8 reading newsletter 2017
Friday, November 3rd – Sunday, December 3rd
Kids find sponsors to pledge for every minute read and then challenge themselves to read, read, read! Last year, students read 1,161,001 minutes and raised almost $50,000 through the generosity of their parents, extended families, friends and local businesses. Milestone buttons are back this year by popular demand!
At the end of the Readathon, each child collects the pledged money from their sponsors and returns it to their teacher along with a pledge sheet. Cash/checks written to PTA of PS8 can be sent in to your classroom teacher or pledges can be paid online.
A Night to Celebr8 Reading
A Night to Celebr8 Reading is a festive get together that celebrates our fantastic Brooklyn literary community and our school wide push to highlight the written word.
