Laurel holds a bachelors degree from the University of Wisconsin, and a Masters
degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from New York University. She
has been teaching for close to 20 years, the last 15 at P.S.333 in Manhattan.
Becoming an aunt was her inspiration to learn more about children and eventually
paved her path to becoming a teacher.
Laurel is incredibly grateful for the warm and gracious welcome and all of the
support she has received from the staff at P.S. 8. She is excited for all of the
adventures coming up in second grade. Laurel loves witnessing a classroom of
children come together as a caring community and seeing children grow and
develop a sense of joy and independence in their learning.
Outside of school, Laurel enjoys relaxing at the beach, reading, gardening and
spending time with her friends and family. She lives with her husband and 3 cats in Brooklyn.
