She plans art experiences that provides opportunities for students to learn about their art materials though choice and experimentation. She believes that the thought process and decision making behind creating art is as important as the end product. She encourages her students to explore their own ideas and interests in their art and create art of which they feel proud.
Julia is an alumnus of the Art21 Educators program. She is also an active member of the National Art Education Association and has presented on teaching with contemporary art at the National Art Education Association Conference since 2012.
