The Equity & Diversity Team is a subcommittee of the School Leadership Team (SLT) that is working to cultivate a diverse and inclusive environment for students, families, and educators at PS 8.
One of the main goals of this team is embrace and promote equity, diversity, and inclusion beyond our classroom walls and into the greater community.
This subcommittee does this by spearheading community events, developing student-centered activities around the values and mission of the school, and creating more opportunities for all stakeholders to have dialogue around issues that are affecting our school community.
We have a partnership with the Center on Culture, Race & Equity at Bank Street College of Education.
