PS 8 and the PTA sponsor many exciting and enriching programs for our students. These programs include Robotics, Chorus, Cheerleading, After-School Play, Film Club and Chess Club. 3rd Party After-School Programs
Virtual Y
Thanks to a grant, the Dodge YMCA runs a Virtual Y in the school that provides free after school, vacation camp, and summer programs to a limited number of registered K-5 students. The afterschool program runs from 3:00-6:00PM and features homework help, arts, and sports. Attendance is important. Kids Orbit
Kids Orbit runs a nonprofit after school program from 3:00-6:00PM for pre-K–5th graders. They provide snacks, homework help, and special activities, such as arts, crafts, and Tae Kwon Do. Parents may choose 3, 4, or 5 day options for a monthly fee or arrange for drop-in service if they pre-register their child. Kids Orbit also provides full and half-day care on school holidays.
