Michelle Bonasera

Kindergarten
At PS 8 since 2011

Ms. Michelle Bonasera started as a student-teacher at PS 8 in 2009 and liked it so much she never left. She returned as a substitute teacher in the 2010-11 school year and joined as a full-time teacher in 2011. Ms. Bonasera received a B.A. from St. Joseph’s College in Brooklyn and is now studying mathematics and science while working toward an M.A at Hunter College. She is certified to teach general and special education classes.

Ms. Bonasera enjoys teaching at PS 8 because “the school represents a true community,” in that staff and parents work together closely on projects to benefit the school. She enjoys laughing with her kindergartners, learning about their different personalities and designing strategies to help make learning fun for them. She hopes to make a mark on their lives.

When not teaching, Ms. Bonasera spends time with her family reading, exercising and cooking.
